This Olympic-themed rodeo is all about learning\, laughing\, and building confidence on snow. \nYoung skiers will rotate through six exciting skill challenges\, testing balance\, turning\, stopping\, awareness\, and mountain movement — all in a playful\, supportive environment. Whether your child is brand new to skiing or already cruising the learning hill\, the Kids Ski Rodeo is designed so every skill level can join the fun. \nThe event takes place on EZ Street (skiers left) using the magic carpet\, making it easy for kids to participate and for parents to watch from the bottom of EZ Street. DESCRIPTION:Meet at the bottom of the 10th Mountain Double chairlift. The program lasts about one hour. Topics include: Identifying animal tracks in the snow and discussing wildlife that can be found at Cooper; how to identify the different tree species found at Cooper; the history of the area’s indigenous peoples; the mountain peaks and other physical features visible from Cooper on a sunny day; the Continental Divide – what it is and where it runs; what a National Forest is and the relationship between the Forest Service and Ski Cooper; and water projects in the local area that bring water from the west side of the divide to the more populous east side.
