DESCRIPTION:Meet at the bottom of the 10th Mountain Double chairlift. The program lasts about one hour. Topics include: Identifying animal tracks in the snow and discussing wildlife that can be found at Cooper; how to identify the different tree species found at Cooper; the history of the area’s indigenous peoples; the mountain peaks and other physical features visible from Cooper on a sunny day; the Continental Divide – what it is and where it runs; what a National Forest is and the relationship between the Forest Service and Ski Cooper; and water projects in the local area that bring water from the west side of the divide to the more populous east side.
