New York Times Article - Dec. 10, 2024
Ski Cooper in Leadville, Colorado was featured in the New York Times article “Chasing the $100 Lift Ticket: 6 Mountains Where You Can Ski for Less” as a standout example of affordable skiing.
The Times tells of this nonprofit resort two hours from Denver that offers a relaxed, old-school ski experience at a fraction of the price of major resorts. Lift tickets range from just $45 on nonholiday weekdays to $110 on peak Saturdays.
With nearly 500 acres of skiable terrain and a welcoming, low-key atmosphere, Ski Cooper is praised as an ideal spot to hone your skills without crowds—or high costs.
While it’s true that day pass rates are incredible for the occassional skier or rider, more frequent visitors can find the best value in Cooper’s low cost season passes.
