MOVING FORWARD WITH AN UNBELIEVABLE SEASON PASS DEAL

June 2, 2020

Well, I just flipped the calendar to the new month and hopefully to a new page in our quest to move forward, as we prepare with great hope and anticipation for the 2020/21 ski season here at Cooper.  We have made it through the last few months, taking care of each other, while maintaining a positive outlook toward the future.  It was a blessing that we were able to provide additional payrolls to our seasonal staff and maintain our core year-round staff (working from home a significant portion of the time!) without seeking outside financial help, mainly due to our success in recent years.  The picture is certainly not as “rosy” as we had planned, having lost 25 – 30% of our season revenue during the mandated early shutdown.  As with many other resorts in our industry, Cooper is striving to balance helping our customers, while maintaining our financial position so that we can continue to perform and navigate through these stormy waters.

With that in mind, we are rolling out an early 2020/21 Season Pass Sale that we hope will allow you to comfortably afford the sport we all love, even in these uncertain times, while providing us the baseline resources we need to continue serving you the quality, down-to-earth skiing experience Cooper has always been known for!

When purchased in the month of July (and only in the month of July, so don’t miss out!) 2020/21 Passes for the 15-74 year age bracket will be $249, and Passes for the 6-14 year age bracket will be $99. As an additional “thank you” to our loyal 2019/20 pass holders, we are offering an additional flat $50 discount for Pass Renewals, during—and ONLY during!—the July sale.  That means that in the July Pass Sale a 6–14 year old Pass Renewal is just $49 and a 15–74  year old Pass Renewal is only $199!

Even for new passholders (without the $50 renewal discount) the July pricing is unbelievably low.  We hope this will attract many new folks to the Cooper Family! This unrestricted Pass is valid every day Cooper is open during the 2020/21 Ski Season and carries many additional onsite benefits as well as providing 3 complimentary skiing days at more than 50 Partner Resorts across the nation (even Alaska)!!!  And as so many of our returning passholders have discovered, once you experience Cooper’s laid-back atmosphere, family friendly environment, consistently soft snow, and wide variety of terrain, you’ll be glad you joined our family, far away from the hustle & bustle!

Oh yes, let’s not forget our new terrain and lift!  We opened the Tennessee Creek Basin in mid-January and were forced to close in mid-March, so many of our skiers never had the opportunity to explore this new, steeper and more challenging face of Cooper.  I made my way to the base of the Little Horse T-Bar at the bottom of Tennessee Creek Basin in late April and I saw some of the most incredible spring skiing conditions I have ever seen – how bittersweet since we were not able to open the Mountain and enjoy this feast ……. something to look forward to next season!

I will update you periodically throughout the summer and keep you abreast of news and happenings here at Cooper.

Best,

Dan Torsell
